Nick Ashford came from Willow Run in 1964 with a dream of making it in NY. Before he would realize that dream he spent months in Bryant park--homeless. He was undeterred and held on to that vision. The daily struggles became mountains but the beauty in looking at the tall buildings made him say, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." On one fine day he walked up to White Rock Baptist Church, met Valerie Simpson, and created a musical partnership that changed their lives -- and the rest is history.
Aside from his songs, Nick was known for his style and originality. He left us with an indelible mark and in an effort to inspire young dreamers of today, his wife, Valerie and daughters, Nicole and Asia are offering his shoes. Any man with aspirations of making it and who wears size 11 should step it up!
